레끌레도어는 전세계 45개국 4000여 명의 회원으로 구성된 정감있는 호텔 컨시어지 협회다. 레끌레도어는 아시아 전역에 강한 두각을 나타내고 있으며, 한국은 협회내에서 메시지를 전달하는 적극적인 역할을 담당하고 있다. 레끌레도어의 중요한 목적은 각국 멤버들의 연결 및 교류를 통해 호텔 고객들에게 더 나은 서비스를 제공하는 것이다. 또한 멤버들에게 교육 및 훈련을 제공하고, 더 나아가 관련 지역의 관광 홍보 및 중요 산업 파트너들과의 지속적인 관계개선에도 전념을 다하고 있다. 이러한 노력을 통하여 각 멤버들 개개인의 발전과 전문성을 갖추기 위한 기회제공이 이루어지고 있다. 궁극적으로는 호텔서비스의 필수적인 부분인 컨시어지로서의 역할을 바라보고 있다.
황금키가 교차된 레끌레도어만의 독특한 상징은 양쪽 옷깃에 착용하며, 이 키를 착용하고 있는 사람은 본인의 직업에 자부심을 갖고 있는 진정한 서비스계에 전문가임을 의미한다. 전세계의 더욱더 많은 방문객들이 골든키와 그들의 서비스 우수성을 인식하기 시작했다. 최고의 서비스를 손님들에게 제공함으로써 투숙했던 호텔 및 도시의 재방문 효과를 가져올 수 있다. 이러한 효과는 호텔산업의 긍정적인 측면이라고 할 수 있다.
레끌레도어는 전세계에서 다양한 미팅을 주최하고 있으며, 대부분의 미팅은 멤버들에게 많은 혜택을 줄 수 있는 교육적인 요소를 강하게 내포하고 있다. 현재 레끌레도어 UICH는 최근에 생겨난 트렌드를 살펴보고 있다. 가장 최근에는 컨시어지라는 직업에 영향을 주고 있는 소셜미디어에 많은 관심을 기울이고 있다. 레끌레도어 멤버들은 각 지역총회 및 세계총회를 통하여 만남의 장을 가지고 있으며, “우정을 통한 서비스”라는 모토 아래 네트워킹과 서로간의 정보교환 및 관계형성을 이루어가고 있다.

Les Clefs d'Or is a friendly Society of Hotel Concierge which consists of 45 National Sections and almost 4000 members worldwide. We have strong representation throughout Asia and our friends in Korea play a very active role in delivering our message in this part of the world. The main purpose of Les Clefs d'Or is to enable our members to connect with each other so that we can better service the needs of our hotel guests. We are also committed to the promotion of tourism in our respective regions, providing education and training for our members, and with assisting our members in developing long term relationships with important industry partners. By providing our members with these resources they havethe opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. Ultimately we see the role of Concierge as an integral part of hotel services. The distinctive symbol of Les Clefs d'Or, the gold crossed keys, are displayed on our lapels to identify the wearer as a true hospitality professional, someone who takes great pride in their work. More and more international visitors are beginning to recognize the gold keys and their connection to service excellence. By providing the very best of service to our guests we can encourage return visitation to our hotels and to our cities and this is a healthy thing for the industry.
We host a variety of different meetings around the world and most of them include a strong educational component which should be of great benefit to our members. We look at emerging trends and new technology, a particular focus of late has been on social media and the impact it is having on the Concierge profession. Our members have the opportunity to connect with each other at both Regional and International Congresses and it is this networking and relationship building that underpins the Association's motto “in Service through Friendship”.

제9회 일본 아시아 총회와 아시아 지역의 레끌레도어 활동상황에 대해서 말해달라

최근에 있었던 일본 아시아 총회는 의심할 여지 없는 가장 성공적인 총회 중에 하나였다. “Omotenashi”(おもてなし)라는 총회 주제는 레끌레도어의 경험에 기반한 아시아 서비스 문화의 독특한 양식을 보여준 완벽한 선택이었다. 총회는 이미 두달 전에 등록이 마감될 정도로 아시아 지역 컨시어지들의 적극적인 참여가 이루어졌으며, 중요한 요소들이 성공적으로 잘 조합된 프로그램을 선보였다.
교육적인 심포지엄, 스폰서 쇼케이스, 회장단의 연설 그리고 사교활동 모두가 참석자로부터 호평을 받았다. 그리고 이번 아시아 총회를 통하여, 아시아 지역을 이루고 있는 12개국의 대표자와 각국 회장들이 참석하는 회장단 미팅이 주최되는 등 흔치 않은 기회를 가질 수 있었다. 포럼 기간동안 아시아 국가들의 각 리더들은 그들의 공통 관심사와 각 지역에서 겪고 있는 독특한 어려움에 관련하여 토론하기도 했다. 개인적으로 이번 총회의 하이라이트는 일본 황실의 공주 타카마도의 갈라디너 참석이 아니었나 생각한다. 다음 총회는 2017년 뭄바이에서 있다. 인도의 각 컨시어지들이 이번 일본의 성공적인 총회 개최를 토대로 잘 하리라 확신한다.

Our recent Asian Congress in Tokyo was undoubtedly one of the most successful meetings staged in this part of the world. The theme of the Congress was “Omotenashi” which is a unique style of Asian hospitality and it was a perfect choice based on our experiences. The Congress was very well attended by Concierge from around the Asian Zone(so much so that registration sold out 2 months before the event!) and it successfully combined all of the essential elements of a well thought our program. The educational symposium, sponsors showcase, Presidents presentations and the social activities were all very well received by attendees. It also allowed us the rare opportunity to host an Asian President's board meeting which involved the Presidents and representative officers of all 12 National Sections that make up the Asian Zone. During this forum our leaders from the Asian region discuss common issues and unique challenges that they face in their region. For me a personal highlight of the program was the opportunity to host Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado at our Gala Dinner. Our next Asian Congress will be held in Mumbai in 2017 and I am sure our colleagues in India will look to build on the success of this wonderful event in Japan.

한국 레끌레도어는 2006년에 처음 세계협회에 가입한 이래로 줄곧 적극적으로 협회 활동에 참여하여 왔다. 그리고 바로 2007년 서울에서 제5회 아시아 총회를 개최함으로써 자신들의 협회 참여도를 확립시켰다. 이는 협회에 가입한지 얼마되지 않은 한국이라는 새로운 지역에게는 중대한 일이었고 그들은 주변 국가들의 컨시어지들을 환대함에 있어서 놀랄만한 일을 해냈다.
한국 레끌레도어는 김준우 전회장과 함께 지역적으로 잘 결속된 리더십을 먼저 이루었고, 최근엔 현 이현진 회장이 그 역할을 잘 해내고 있다고 생각한다. 한국 레끌레도어 멤버들은 최근 멘도샤에서 개최된 세계 컨시어지 총회를 통하여 세계협회의 참여도를 더욱 강화해 나가고 있다. 레끌레도어 세계협회 회장으로서 한국과 같은 작은 국가섹션에서 보여주는 열정과 헌신에 항상 깊은 감명을 받고 있다. 비록 한국 레끌레도어가 보다 큰 국가섹션이 누릴 수 있는 자원이 충분하지 않다고 할지라도, 레끌레도어 메시지를 전달하는 열정적인 접근은 이를 충분히 만회하고 있으며, 이들의 이러한 노력은 충분이 그 가치를 인정받을 만하다고 말할 수 있다.

Les Clefs d'Or Korea came into our Association in 2006 and their members have been very involved in our activities since that time. Almost immediately they set the tone for their involvement by hosting the 5th Asian Congress in Seoul in 2007. This was a major undertaking for such a new section and they did a marvelous job in welcoming their colleagues from around the region. They have had the benefit of strong local leadership firstly with Jeff Kim and more recently with Jini Lee filling the President's position. Their members are also quite involved in our international events with many having attended recent UICH Congresses in Mendoza and Kuala Lumpur. As International President of Les Clefs d'Or I am always impressed by the commitment and dedication shown by our smaller National Sections(of which Korea is one). Although they may not have the resources enjoyed by our larger sections they make up for this in their enthusiastic approach to spreading the message of Les Clefs d'Or and they deserve to be recognized for this.

1995년에 Shangri-La Hotel Sydney에서 시작하여, 20년 넘게 Chief concierge라는 직책을 수행해오고 있다. 몇 년전에는 호주 레끌레도어 회장이었고, 세계 레끌레도어 이사직을 지난 7년간 역임하고 있다. 2017년 베를린 세계 총회까지 레끌레도어 세계 회장으로 활동할 예정이다.

I have been employed by Shangri-La Hotel Sydney as Chief Concierge for just over 20 years having commenced there in 1995. I was formerly the President of Les Clefs d'Or Australia for a number of years and have now been sitting on the International Executive of Les Clefs d'Or for 7 years. My 2 year term as International President will expire during the International Congress in Berlin in March 2017.
